“Hi, I am Lo”

I am the 40 something in this Mother/Daughter team blog.  I am blessed to be married to a wonderful husband who supports me in every aspect of life.  I get to be a Mom to 2 very kind- hearted and wonderful children who I will refer to as “Lil and J.D.” on this blog.  I am blessed and thank God everyday to have each of them in my life.

As for my life’s journey, I always considered myself pretty fit and healthy but when my husband and I started dating over 12 years ago it became our hobby to cook for one another and share our family’s favorite Italian recipes.  We also loved to go out to dinner trying out every restaurant in town.

Once our daughter Lil, was born I was so obsessed with her that I didn’t take time for myself to exercise and then my weight was never the same.  2 1/2 years after Lil, we welcomed our son, J.D. and life with two little ones just takes over!

When our daughter was 8 months old we discovered she had food allergies (milk, egg and peanuts) and that is when I became a “box turner.”  That means you start reading every ingredient in the label to make sure that you know what you are actually eating.  This is when we really started on our health and wellness journey by really paying attention to what foods we were putting in our body.

It wasn’t until I got our youngest sleeping through the night that I could focus on my own exercise regime and really get my body back into shape.  A healthy lifestyle is about eating right AND exercise and it wasn’t until I put the two together on a regular basis that I saw real changes begin.

My motivations to pack good lunches and make home cooked meals everyday are my husband, daughter and son.  I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle for all of us to be at our very best each and every day in order to serve God.

I now want to help anyone who is on their journey to a healthy lifestyle.  If you need my help, please contact me.  I will help you develop a plan for yourself and your family!

Note: By the Grace of God, Lil grew out of ALL of her food allergies by the time she was 3 years old.  I have a special place in my heart for all those parents who have a child with a food allergy.
